CRANBERRY CHIPOTLE SAUCE
Cranberry, chipotle chilies, pure cane sugar, natural cane vinegar, and Laterra Mexican spice blend.
Cranberries have been used as both food and medicine for centuries. Native to North America, Native American Indians were the first to use it for food. The English Settlers used the berry both raw, cooked, and for medication. The dried Chipotle [chee-POHT-lay] Chili Pepper, when fresh, is the Jalapeño Chili.
The term “Chipotle”, of Aztec descent (Chili Poctli), means Smoked Chili which was the pre-hispanic drying process of this pepper.
The Chipotle Chili is usually identified by a smoky, light-brown sugar aftertaste.
